By the end of this week a tropical or subtropical depression over the central Atlantic, as reported by the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
“An area of disorganized downpours and thunderstorms is currently located a few hundred miles east-northeast of Bermuda”, explains the latest NHC report.
For this reason, an area of low pressure is forecast to develop in this area by Wednesday and environmental conditions are marginally conducive for a tropical or subtropical depression to form.
“A subtropical or tropical depression could form during the latter part of this week as the system moves generally eastward,” the report continues.
The possibility of depression forming in the next 48 hours is 20 percent, while the probability of formation in the next seven days is 50 percent.
