Soon the end of the screening tests by the nose? A French company has designed a terminal capable of determining whether a person is infected with Covid-19, without contact and in two minutes.
Development by the automotive supplier Valeo, in collaboration with medical institutions, this device was presented at the Munich Motor Show (IAA Mobility), Germany.
More precisely, this white cube of one meter by fifty centimeters consists of a screen and cameras, reports The Parisian.
On the occasion of # IAA2021, #Valeo unveiled a terminal capable of detecting Covid 19, without contact, in less than 2 minutes. With a reliability rate of 94%, this terminal should be approved within a year. To know more: https://t.co/ywEKIukcrH @Challenges pic.twitter.com/uHR51epHNC

To know if it is positive or not, the user must position himself in front of the device and then answer four questions concerning the symptoms of the disease. For example, he should indicate if he has a dry cough, a runny nose or a sore throat.

During this time, sensors determine the age of the person, his sex and then measure several medical data such as the heart rate, his respiratory amplitude as well as his temperature. After a few minutes, the result appears on the screen.
According to Valeo, its reliability rate is estimated at 94%. The terminal, which should be approved within a year, is currently being tested in several French hospitals, but also in Israel and Tunisia.
