NAIROBI: A passenger plane plunged into a lake in Tanzania, 26 of the passengers have been rescued, while the search for the others continues.
According to Tanzania’s state broadcaster, a passenger plane crashed into Tanzania’s Lake Victoria on Sunday when it attempted to land at the airport in the lakeside city of Bukoba in stormy weather. .
According to the BBC, there were 43 people on board the Boeing plane, of which 26 have been rescued and taken to hospital, while rescue workers and local fishermen are busy searching for others.
Videos of the crash show the plane submerged in water, with only its tail sticking out, surrounded by rescue workers and fishing boats.

The Precision Air flight was en route from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city, to Mwanza via Bukoba, when it reportedly encountered a storm and heavy rains.
