A Pixel 7 “comforts” an iPhone 14 in Google’s latest ad campaign

Google has released a new “Best phones forever” campaigncomprised of five ads that highlight the Pixel’s capabilities over the iPhone.

In this series of advertisements, an iPhone 14 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro chatas well as an iPhone 14 Pro and a Pixel Foldh. The two phones decided to “stop being rivals and start being friends”.

 

The campaign seeks to highlight what features the Pixel has compared to the iPhone. The most forceful is “Plateau”, where the iPhone 14 hints that it has reached a plateau:

  • iPhone: Well, when I turned fourteen, I started to see things… differently.
  • Pixel: Wow, fourteen! The big one-four.
  • iPhone: When I was your age, people bragged about me to their friends.
  • Pixel: They still do! you are legendary
  • iPhone: Not the same. The way your friends compliment your photos: “So sharp!”
  • Pixel: I can fix blurry photos for you; we don’t need to tell anyone.
  • iPhone: Leave it. Astrophotography mode, call assistant, 30x zoom. You can do many things that I can never do.
  • Pixel: No, don’t say that!
  • iPhone: It’s true. I’m actually jealous of your… your… AI.
  • Pixel: But what about your blue bubbles? They are so blue.
  • iPhone: Bubbles! The bubbles! All I have to show for all my years on Earth is the color of a bubble? Millions of people lined up for me.
  • Pixel: Right!
  • iPhone: I’ve been the most popular flashlight at shows for over a decade.
  • Pixel: So much!
  • iPhone: I’m in the pockets of some of the most- (BATTERY DEAD SOUND)
  • Pixel: Oh, hurry! Somebody get an electric charger!

 

There are advertisements dedicated to the capabilities of astrophotography, reverse wireless charging, and the Pixel’s free Google One VPN (for five years).

The final announcement is called “Opening Up”, with the 7 Pro being replaced by a Pixel Fold and the reveal being the larger interior screen.
