A missing university student is found dead in Bogotá

The Colombian university student María Paula Munévar Olmos, who had been missing for six days, was found dead this Wednesday in a wooded area of ​​the Javeriana University, where she studied, official sources reported.

The 23 year old was last seen last Thursday April 13 and since then family, friends and colleagues They launched an intense campaign on social networks to try to find their whereabouts.

The Javeriana University of Bogotá, where the young woman was studying Information Science, Library Science and Archiving, confirmed that Munévar Olmos "was found lifeless" in a wooded area that is part of the campus.

"Based on the investigations and the continuous search by the authorities and security personnel of La Javeriana, María Paula was found lifeless in the northeast area of ​​the University, which was, and is, closed due to winter conditions"the institution said in a statement.

The university added that "the facts are being investigated by the corresponding authorities" to establish the causes of death.

"The University thanks the authorities, the media and all those who supported the search for María Paula, who will leave a deep void in our community and in all the people who had the opportunity to meet her and share with her."added the information.

The young woman was the daughter of Pedro Pablo Múnevar, secretary of the First Section of the Council of State, Colombia’s highest court for administrative litigation, whose colleagues held a sit-in in the central Plaza de Bolívar in recent days to give more visibility to the case.

The mayoress of Bogotá, Claudia López, expressed on Twitter her "deep pain and sadness" by the news of the discovery of the body of the university.
