A member of the Sinaloa cartel is sentenced in the US for cocaine trafficking

Jaime Antonio Mandujano Eudavemember of Sinaloa cartelwas sentenced this Thursday to 13 years in prison in a United States court for cocaine trafficking, the Justice Department said in a statement.

According to court documents, between 1998 and 2012, Mandujano Eudave, 61, was involved in transporting cocaine for the Sinaloa cartel.

In the statement, the Justice Department affirms that he coordinated the transport of the drug by boat from Colombia to Culiacán, Los Cabos and other places in Mexico.

The drug trafficker communicated the coordinates to the members of the ship’s crew to arrange a meeting in the Pacific Ocean.

There, the vessel loaded with cocaine from Colombia met another ship controlled by the Sinaloa cartel and unloaded the merchandise.

These ships carried “several kilos of cocaine“And as soon as the drug arrived in Mexico, other members of the cartel would take it to the United States to sell it.

The US authorities accused him of knowing that the cocaine “would be transported to the United States for further distribution.” He pleaded guilty.

He was detained by the Spanish authorities in 2014 at the request of USA and extradited the following year.
