Trump was charged with one additional count of willful withholding of national defense information and two additional counts of obstruction, related to alleged attempts to remove surveillance video footage at his Mar-a-Lago resort in the summer of 2022.

Former President Trump is facing allegations that he and his aides asked a staffer to delete surveillance camera footage from his Florida estate to obstruct investigations into confidential documents.

The accusations were released Thursday in an update to the grand jury indictment that adds new charges against Trump and adds a third defendant to the case.

A Trump spokesman said the new charges were “nothing more than an ongoing desperate and shaky attempt” by the Joe Biden administration “to harass President Trump and those around him” and influence the 2024 presidential race.
