A high level delegation of Afghan Taliban arrived in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: At the invitation of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a high level delegation of Islamic Emirate led by caretaker Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi arrived in Pakistan.

According to ARY News, a high level delegation of the government of the Islamic Emirate has arrived in Pakistan.

The interim government delegation also includes the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of Finance. The guests were welcomed by Pakistan’s Special Representative Sadiq Khan and Foreign Ministry officials.

The Afghan Taliban government delegation will attend a two-day Trica Plus meeting in Islamabad on November 11, which will be attended by delegations from Pakistan, Russia, the United States and China.

The delegation of the Islamic Emirate will stay in Pakistan from November 10 to 12, during which there will be meetings of high level bilateral officials to discuss the expansion of economic relations between the two countries and the issue of Afghan refugees. In the meetings, the Afghan Foreign Minister will also discuss transit, trade, refugees and transportation facilities.

It may be recalled that last month Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi accompanied by Director General ISI General Faiz Hameed visited Kabul where he met with the caretaker Prime Minister of Afghanistan Mullah Hassan Akhund. Issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in trade and economic sectors, were discussed during the meeting.

On this occasion, Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that Pakistan wanted lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan and was committed to help the Afghan brothers on humanitarian grounds.
