According to the investigation, the man was involved in a fistfight in the stands in which several people took part and which later continued in the access corridors to the stadium, where he suffered the fatal stab wound.

The victim was taken alive to a hospital, where he died of cardiac arrest.

Police are trying to identify the perpetrator using the stadium’s surveillance cameras, which recorded the fight, which was attended by several fans dressed in Chacarita colors.

Authorities ruled out that the incident could have resulted from a confrontation between rival factions of the club, as is common in Argentine football, which has suffered more than 300 deaths in its professional history, according to the anti-violence NGO Save Football used in this sport.

“It was a completely isolated event that had nothing to do with factions or characterized fans. As far as we could find out, it was the result of taking a large amount of alcoholic drinks and drugs,” Guillermo Cimadevila, head of the agency, told the press. of violence prevention in sport.
