A well-known Russian military blogger was killed in an explosion in a cafe in St. Petersburg, Russia. Tatarsky supported Russia’s war effort in Ukraine.
According to the foreign news agency, the bomb was hidden in a small statue in the cafe and exploded when the statue was given to blogger Vladylan Tatarsky as a gift.
According to the Russian media, at least 30 people were injured in the explosion who have been transferred to different hospitals, but the investigation of the explosion has started.
According to Russian media, Tatarsky has more than 560,000 followers on social media and was one of the most popular bloggers. In his blog, he supported Russia’s war effort in Ukraine.
Russia’s State Investigative Committee said it had opened an investigation into the murder. There was no indication as to who was responsible. The interior ministry said everyone in the cafe at the time of the blast was being checked.
Russia’s foreign ministry has not blamed anyone for the attack, but says the silence in Western capitals after the explosion exposes their hypocrisy.
