A colloquium in Havana will discuss the "digital lock" To Cuba

Nearly 60 international guests and more than a hundred Cuban experts will analyze from Monday to Tuesday in Havana “disinformation as part of the hybrid war against Cuba and the digital blockade” of the island by the United States.

In its second edition, the “Patria Colloquium” will bring together 59 international guests from 14 countries, 106 national specialists, including journalists, communication experts and media and social network analysts, among other academic profiles, will analyze “disinformation methods, hate speech and digital blockade suffered by Cuba,” the organizers reported in a statement.

“The objective is to dissect the new strategies of informational aggression against Cuba through fake news campaigns and the promotion of hate on social networks,” they added. The event will be held at the Casa de las Américas, in the Cuban capital.

According to the call, “all the resources, digital services and investigation procedures that remain blocked in Cuba” will also be analyzed and whose objective is “to prevent the development of the country also in the digital field.”

Besides, the organizers propose “the creation of an international front made up of political leaders, progressive governments and experts” that they can promote “a new world information order where there is no room for blockades that prevent the technological and digital development of the peoples”.

The closing ceremony will take place on the steps of the University of Havana, which will feature interventions and messages from different experts and leaders.

The musical performance of the Buena Fe group and a video mapping show with projection of images in the historic buildings of Havana and aerial recordings by drones will also be added. The two days will be broadcast live on the “CubaPeriodistas” Facebook page and the “Cubaperiodistas” Telegram group. Once the event is over, all the contents will be uploaded to the “Cubaperiodistaoficial” Youtube channel.
