A female Boca fan died this Wednesday and at least 19 people were injured in an accident, when the bus that was carrying them overturned on the route to Mendoza, where the “xeneize” team will play tonight against Quilmes for the quarterfinals of the Argentine Cup.
The accident occurred on National Route 7, 40 kilometers from the capital of Mendoza, at the height of the city of San Martín, in front of the racetrack of that city, official sources told Télam. The deceased woman was identified as Paola Emilce Frites, 32 years old, domiciled in the Buenos Aires town of Virrey del Pino. The injured were transferred to the hospital in the town of San Martín, and also to the central hospital in the city of Mendoza.
The prosecutor in charge of the case, Oscar Sívori, who will carry out the investigation to find out the origin of the tragedy experienced at noon, indicated that the two-story bus came from the Buenos Aires party of La Matanza, and the fans went up in the localities of Virrey del Pino, Laferrere and González Catán.
Meanwhile, Boca lamented the tragic accident suffered by the fans through a statement that he released on his social networks in which he made himself available to the relatives and friends of the injured fans.
The match between Boca and Quilmes, from the First National, will be played tonight from 10 pm at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza, in search of a place in the semifinals of the federal tournament.
