Cannabis cultivation has been banned in Afghanistan and violators will be prosecuted under Sharia laws.

According to foreign media, cannabis cultivation has been banned in Afghanistan. In case of violation, not only the hemp crop will be destroyed, but the perpetrators will also be punished under Sharia laws.

In this regard, Afghanistan’s Supreme Leader Haibatullah Akhonzada says that the courts have been instructed to take action against those guilty of violating the decree under Sharia law.

It should be noted that according to a report of the United Nations, Afghan farmers cultivate the largest poppy crop in the world. In 2010, Afghanistan became the world’s largest supplier of opium, hashish and heroin.
