With Android 12 beta 4 released recently, we are seeing some new features expected in Chrome, such as managing multiple windows at the same time. A bit like Windows, where in the desktop version of Chrome we can open different windows to have all the tabs we want.
On smartphones, the experience changes, but in the new version we’ll be able to get closer to a similar experience. Up to 5 windows open on Android Update 12. With the new version of Chrome, we will have the ability to handle multiple windows like Windows.

On smartphones, the experience is more limited, but in the new version we will be able to get closer to an experience similar to what we have in Windows. Up to 5 open windows with Android Update 12. With the new version of Chrome, we will have the ability to handle multiple windows like in Windows.

When you click on that button, a new Chrome window is added in the other half, which will allow us to have an experience similar to the Desktop desktop, although always with limitations due to the size of the screen. Once the second instance takes place in the middle of the screen, the context menu passes is a window management button where it shows all open windows.
Up to 5 windows can be opened, although there are no limits imposed on the tabs each one can use. Which brings us to the desktop experience we all know from Windows.
The Android Update 12 features are some of the most anticipated and well-received additions to Chrome for Android users. It’s great that we can finally have a desktop experience on our smartphones, even if it’s limited by screen size. New code has been added to Chromium Gerrit so we can expect this feature soon!
