The late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actress J. ‘Thalaivi’, starring Kangana Ranaut, based on the life of Jayalalithaa, will hit theaters on September 10. ‘Thalaivi’ will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Kangana shared this announcement on Instagram on Monday. The actress also shared a poster for the film along with the news.
Kangana wrote: “The story of this iconic personality alone is worth watching on the big screen. It paves the way for the hashtag Thalaivi. He is set to make a superstar entry into the world of cinema. Thalaivi will hit theaters on 10th. September. “Coming”.
Producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri said that ‘Thalaivi’ has charted an expansive journey with timeless experiences throughout. As theaters reopen across the country, we’re excited for fans to be able to experience the great life of the legend on the big screen.
Induri said that Jayalalithaa has always been associated with film and bringing her story to life on the big screen was the only way to pay tribute to this great legend and revolutionary leader.
Based on the life of the late Jayalalithaa, ‘Thalaivi’ shows different aspects of his life. Her journey as an actress at a young age to become the face of Tamil cinema, as well as her rise as a revolutionary leader in Tamil Nadu politics, changed the course of her life.
