During this new American box office week, the public is still present in theaters. And the big winner of this week is called Free Guy. The feel-good action movie of Shawn levy with Ryan reynolds cash $ 18.8 million for its second weekend of operation, bringing the total to $ 58.8 million. Its drop in attendance only amounts to 34%, where other Blockbusters suffered greater loss of spectators (Black Widow had fallen to 68%, Fast and Furious 9: 67% or even 55% for Jungle Cruise).
As for the international, Free Guy has recorded 111 million revenues in two weeks, a pretty good score given the pandemic. The fact that the film did not have a hybrid release Disney + and cinema surely has a lot to do with it.
In second position, we find a real surprise since it is the Paw Patrol: the movie. The animated feature film records $ 13 million in revenue for its first weekend of operation. Simultaneously broadcast by the streaming platform Paramount +, the film does better than some big cars like Raya and the Last Dragon (8 million). In third place is Jungle Cruise which records 6.2 million to bring its domestic total to 92 million. It records nearly 173 million internationally, although we do not yet know the performance of the film on Disney +.

Big fiasco however for the futuristic thriller “Reminiscence” by Lisa Joy (Westworld) with Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson in the leading roles. With mixed reviews (38% on Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator) and an exit on HBO Max, the film only records $ 2 million in revenue domestic and 5 million internationally. Big financial furnace in sight for this production estimated at 68 million dollars.
