California man drowns in Colorado River trying to retrieve a blown away hat

A 26-year-old California man drowned in the Colorado River on Monday morning. Kristopher Logan of San Marcos jumped from a pontoon boat to retrieve a hat that blew off in the wind. He went underwater and never resurfaced.

The accident occurred near Davis Camp Park in Bullhead City, Arizona. Emergency units responded at approximately 11:15 a.m. local time. Logan was not wearing a life jacket when he entered the current, according to a report published by the Times of San Diego.
