Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is completely rewriting the 2026 box office record books. The film has rapidly crossed the ₹1,200 crore mark globally since its March 19 release. Theater chains are scrambling to keep up with extreme audience demand.
The monumental financial success spilled over into a real-world celebration this week. Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt brought their on-screen characters to the dance floor during a lavish Mumbai birthday bash for Mishka Kamboj, the daughter of businessman Mohit Kamboj.
The two actors took the stage to perform “Aari Aari,” the hit Shashwat Sachdev-composed track from their blockbuster. Singh wore a leather jacket, denim, and a bucket hat. He grabbed the microphone to lip-sync the rap verses. Dutt stood beside him in a traditional kurta and cheered him on.
Fans immediately latched onto the footage. They celebrated the off-screen reunion of Singh’s Hamza and Dutt’s SP Chaudhary Aslam. Viral Bollywood moments are dominating social feeds this spring. Much like Vikrant Massey’s recent viral greeting with Shah Rukh Khan, this impromptu performance generated massive online engagement, according to a detailed Livemint report published recently.
The partying is justified by hard metrics. Dhurandhar 2 just recorded the highest second-Saturday collection in Hindi cinema history. The Hindi version alone pulled in ₹58 crore on its second Saturday. That officially shattered the previous ₹46 crore benchmark held by Pushpa 2. The film is now rapidly overtaking the lifetime collections of industry giants like Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD.
This financial tidal wave is actively altering the global release calendar. The sheer ticket demand has directly impacted rival studios. Exhibitors significantly reduced Indian showtimes for Ryan Gosling’s newly released Project Hail Mary to make room for the spy thriller. Bollywood studios are also backing down. Akshay Kumar’s upcoming comedy Bhooth Bangla was officially postponed to avoid competing directly with the film. The Lyari underworld narrative has simply proven unstoppable at the ticket counter.
