US Sweeps Gold: Beats Canada 6-2 In Para Ice Hockey Final

The United States defeated Canada 6-2 in the Para ice hockey final at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics on Sunday to secure an unprecedented fifth consecutive Paralympic title. The victory completes a historic sweep for Team USA, making them the first nation to win the Men’s, Women’s, and Para ice hockey tournaments at the same Olympic and Paralympic Games.

U.S. defenseman Jack Wallace led the scoring with a hat trick. Four-time Paralympians Declan Farmer and Brody Roybal, along with rookie Kayden Beasley, provided the remaining goals to cement the American dynasty on the ice. Team captain Josh Pauls secured his fifth Paralympic gold medal as the United States extended an undefeated streak at the Games that dates back to Vancouver 2010.

The match, played in front of a record-setting crowd of 10,755 fans, marked Canada’s third consecutive loss in a Paralympic final. Canada last won Para ice hockey gold at the Turin 2006 Games, the last time the event was hosted in Italy. The American sweep at Milan Cortina mirrors the program’s 2025 international performance, where the U.S. simultaneously held the men’s, women’s, and Para ice hockey World Championship titles in a single calendar year.

Earlier on Sunday, China claimed its second successive bronze medal in the tournament. The Chinese team overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat the Czech Republic 3-2.
