A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck south of Karachi on March 14, sending tremors through several densely populated neighborhoods. There are currently no reports of casualties or structural damage.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department National Seismic Monitoring Centre recorded the event at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located approximately 100 kilometers south of the metropolis.
According to local media networks including Geo News, the tremors were distinctly felt across major districts such as Landhi, Khurramabad, Malir, and Korangi. The seismic activity prompted brief panic, with residents momentarily evacuating homes and offices into the streets.

The event is part of an ongoing pattern of minor seismic activity affecting the area. Since June 2025, Karachi has experienced dozens of low-intensity tremors. Most recently, a 3.2-magnitude quake recorded at a deeper depth of 35 kilometers shook the Malir district on March 10.
Geological monitoring remains active in this part of the world, as Pakistan sits along the volatile boundary where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates converge.
