Hari Murali, a former Malayalam child actor who recently transitioned into visual effects work, was found dead at his home in the Kannur district of Kerala. He was 27.
Police discovered Murali’s body at his residence in Annoor, Payyannur, on the morning of Thursday, March 12. Authorities suspect suicide, reporting that he was found hanging.
The Payyannur police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. On Friday, March 13, his body was transferred to the Kannur Government Medical College hospital mortuary in Pariyaram for an autopsy.
Murali is the son of theatre artist and actor K.A. Murali and his wife, Prasanna. He began his television career at four and a half years old, eventually appearing in approximately 40 Malayalam television serials, including “Kuttichathan” and “Kayamkulam Kochunni.”
He made his feature film debut at age six in director Lal Jose’s 2004 release “Rasikan.” Over his career in the entertainment industry, Murali acted in nearly 50 films. His credits include “Annan Thampi” and “Madampi” in 2008, followed by “Ee Pattanathil Bhootham” in 2009. He later returned to acting for a role in the 2015 film “Amar Akbar Anthony.”
After stepping back from full-time acting, Murali completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Effects and Animation in Bengaluru. Prior to his death, he was employed as a VFX graphic designer at a firm in Kochi.
