Labrinth Quits Entertainment Industry And Slams Euphoria Ahead Of Season 3 Premiere

British singer-songwriter and composer Labrinth announced his retirement from the entertainment industry on Thursday. In a hostile Instagram post, the musician explicitly targeted his label, Columbia Records, and the HBO television series “Euphoria.”

The sudden departure arrives exactly one month before “Euphoria” Season 3 is scheduled to premiere following a four-year production hiatus. In his social media update, Labrinth wrote, “I’m done with this industry. F–k Columbia. Double f–k ‘Euphoria.’ I’m out. Thank you and good night x.”

Labrinth previously won an Emmy for his work generating the signature sound for the HBO series. The exit immediately terminates his planned Season 3 musical collaboration with film composer Hans Zimmer. Zimmer previously publicly noted that Labrinth’s music “shaped the show’s identity.”

As of Friday afternoon, Labrinth has not provided further details regarding his decision to leave the television production. Representatives for HBO and Columbia Records have not issued official statements regarding the status of the upcoming season’s score. Yahoo and TheWrap confirmed the social media departure.
