Esports organization 100 Thieves is reportedly strengthening its Counter-Strike 2 roster with the addition of legendary player Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander as head coach, alongside the recent signing of veteran star Håvard “rain” Nygaard.
The move marks a significant return for Rossander, widely considered one of Counter-Strike’s most successful in-game leaders, who achieved multiple major championships during his extensive tenure with Astralis before retiring from professional play in November 2023.
News of Rossander’s appointment as coach for the North American organization was first reported by HLTV on Wednesday, signaling 100 Thieves’ intent to make a strong impact in the CS2 competitive scene.
The team’s new lineup is currently under construction, with Nygaard being the only publicly confirmed player to date.
Nygaard, known by his in-game name “rain,” recently joined 100 Thieves after a long and decorated career with FaZe Clan, where he had played since January 2016 before being moved to the bench.
Following his transfer, Nygaard expressed his enthusiasm on social media, stating he had “found a new home at 100 Thieves.” He added that an “exciting new challenge is about to begin” and vowed to “do everything in my power to get back to the top.”
Rossander’s playing career included stints with several prominent teams, such as CPH Wolves, HEROIC, and ENCE. His most significant period was with Astralis from October 2016 to November 2023, where he secured numerous top-tier titles.
