Angola Unveils CAN 2025 Squad, Including Three Portugal Top-Tier Players

Angola’s national football team has announced its provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, featuring several players from Portugal’s top professional leagues.

Coach Patrice Beaumelle called up three players currently competing in Portugal’s First League. These include Pedro Bondo from Famalicão, Buatu from Gil Vicente, and Beni Mukendi of Vitoria Guimarães.

The squad also features other notable players with strong connections to Portuguese football. David Carmo, Gelson Dala, and Chico Banza are among them.

Several athletes from Portugal’s Second League were also selected by Beaumelle.

The 35th edition of Africa’s premier international football tournament is set to kick off on December 21, 2024. The competition will run through January 18, 2025.

Goalkeepers: Neblu, Hugo Marques, Dominique.
Defenders: Rui Modesto, Eddie Afonso, Tó Carneiro, Núrio Fortuna, Pedro Bondo, David Carmo, Buatu, Gaspar, Clinton Mata.
Midfielders: Beni Mukendi, Show, Fredy, Maestro, Kelliano, Mário Balburdia.
Forwards: Zito Luvumbo, Manuel Benson, Milson, Chico Banza, Gelson Dala, Randy Nteka, Ary Papel, Mabululu, Mbala Zola, Zine.
