American point guard Corey Allen officially joined FC Porto’s basketball team, promising high energy, active defense, and a strong competitive spirit for the Portuguese club.
Allen expressed considerable enthusiasm for his new challenge, having been announced Sunday and presented on Wednesday.
He noted he has already observed the club’s “very broad fan base” through social media, acknowledging their passion for all sports.
“I’m ready to be part of this family,” Allen told the club’s website. “I like playing in atmospheres with a lot of fans. Our fans love the game, that’s what I expect.”
The 27-year-old American described his playing style as energetic and team-oriented.
“I’m known for scoring points, but I like to involve my teammates,” he said. He added that he is “very active on defense” and enjoys “energizing the fans.”
Allen also highlighted his competitive nature. “I know the competitiveness is high here, but I’m excited about that,” he stated.
He emphasized his readiness “to fight for the team and help them win,” including a desire to “fight for the championship.”
Standing 1.87 meters tall, Allen arrives from Croatian club Cedevita Junior. He previously played for Arges Pitesti in Romania.
