Malaika Arora recently spoke out against what she perceives as societal double standards, particularly concerning how men and women are viewed post-divorce. The Bollywood personality shared her thoughts on the differing reactions people have to men and women’s relationship choices.
Arora noted that men who divorce and then marry women half their age often receive praise. Conversely, women who make similar choices are frequently subjected to scrutiny and judgment. She highlighted this disparity in public perception.
Speaking with Mojo Story, Arora stated that strong individuals are often judged. She affirmed her commitment to making her own decisions regardless of external opinions. She also expressed deep respect and affection for men, acknowledging several important and good men in her life.
Her comments come after reports earlier this year indicated her breakup with actor Arjun Kapoor. The couple had reportedly been dating since 2018, though neither publicly confirmed the split.
Before her relationship with Kapoor, Arora was married to actor-director Arbaaz Khan. They wed in 1998 and share a 23-year-old son, Arhaan. The couple separated in 2016 and their divorce was finalized in 2017.
Arora’s last known screen appearance was in the song “Poison Baby” from the film ‘Thama’. That movie, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal, was released on October 21.
