Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru Marry in Ancient Yogic ‘Bhoota Shuddhi’ Ceremony

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and film director Raj Nidimoru married on Monday, December 1. Their wedding was not a traditional Hindu ceremony but a unique yogic ritual known as “Bhuta Shuddhi Vivah.”

The couple exchanged vows at the Linga Bhairavi Temple, located within the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. This specific ritual aims to purify the body, mind, and energy of the bride and groom.

Bhuta Shuddhi Vivah involves five fundamental elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. The term itself means a process that cleanses these five elements.

This ancient yogic practice is believed to forge a profound spiritual and energetic bond between the husband and wife. It is also thought to bring happiness, prosperity, and spiritual unity into their married life.

During the ceremony, the couple seeks blessings from Linga Bhairavi Devi, representing divine feminine power. They circumambulate a sacred fire and make lifelong commitments to each other before the goddess.

The event was described as simple, quiet, and private. Only close family members and friends attended the ceremony.

The Isha Yoga Center offers several types of sacred marriages. These include Bhuta Shuddhi Vivah, Linga Bhairavi Vivah, and Vivah Vaibhav.

Bhuta Shuddhi Vivah is considered the most pure and powerful among these options. However, this particular ritual is not conducted if the bride is pregnant.
