Footballer Ibrahima Camará Detained in Poland on Rape Charges, Suspended by Club

A Guinean professional footballer playing in Poland has been detained and suspended by his club following an accusation of rape, with authorities ordering pre-trial detention for up to three months.

Ibrahima Camará, a 26-year-old midfielder for Polish club Radomiak Radom, was taken into custody after a 30-year-old woman accused him of sexual assault. Prosecutors have confirmed the woman’s allegations.

Camará is currently in pre-trial detention, which could extend for up to three months as the investigation proceeds.

His club, Radomiak Radom, immediately suspended Camará from all player rights following the emergence of the allegations. The team stated it requires clarification from competent authorities.

The club issued a strong condemnation of any conduct violating applicable law. It added that it would not comment on specific details or press speculation until the investigation concludes.

The alleged incident occurred last Friday, November 28, 2025, after Radomiak Radom’s 4-0 victory over Górnik Zabrze. Some team members went out to celebrate a teammate’s birthday.

According to a Polish newspaper, Camará reportedly separated from the group. He then met with the woman, whom he had connected with via a mobile application.

Before joining Radomiak Radom, Camará played for several clubs in the Portuguese league, including Sp. Braga, Moreirense, and Boavista. Radomiak Radom is currently coached by Portuguese manager Gonçalo Feio.
