Gary Centeno Crowned Champion of Extreme Survival Show, Wins $200,000

Gary Centeno was crowned the champion of the second season of La Isla: Desafío Extremo in a live finale on Telemundo. The 33-year-old victor secured the grand prize of $200,000 after weeks of intense competition in the Caribbean sun.

For the first time in the show’s history, all four finalists received cash prizes. Host Héctor Suárez Gomís announced this surprising decision, adding an emotional layer to the already high-stakes evening.

Martín Salvador, 35, claimed second place and a $40,000 prize. Jason Romo, 26, finished third, earning $25,000. Estefanía Ahumada, 33, took fourth place with $15,000.

The final stage abandoned the team format, shifting to a grueling one-on-one competition. Emotional alliances proved as crucial as physical prowess and precision during the circuits.

Gary Centeno faced Martín Salvador in the ultimate challenge, a matchup widely predicted by fans. Salvador won the first circuit, but Centeno rallied to take the second, third, and fourth rounds.

Centeno’s precision in a target practice test ultimately secured his victory. Overwhelmed with emotion, he collapsed onto the stage, later embracing his wife, Lorena.

Centeno repeatedly stated that his primary motivation was his young daughter, Luna. He expressed his goal was to secure her future with the prize money, fulfilling a promise to become the best version of himself.

"I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for that beautiful woman," Centeno declared, crediting his wife of six years for her unwavering support. His former team, Panteras, also provided consistent encouragement and advice throughout the competition.

The season of La Isla: Desafío Extremo brought together 18 participants for a brutal test of endurance. Contestants faced total isolation, exhausting circuits, and days without food, punctuated by strategic luxuries.

The extreme conditions led to numerous medical abandonments, with competitors like Helen Ochoa and Christian de la Campa forced to exit due to injuries or exhaustion. The journey, which began with three distinct teams, evolved into an unpredictable emotional saga defined by relationships, rivalries, and alliances.
