CMTV Dominates November Cable TV; Audience Exceeds All Rivals Combined

Portuguese news channel CMTV continued its unprecedented viewership dominance in November, drawing more viewers than all its domestic cable television competitors combined.

The broadcaster recorded an average monthly share of 6% for the month. This figure represents over 135,000 viewers tuned in every minute of the day.

CMTV’s share surpassed the combined total of its main rivals, CNNPortugal, SIC Notícias, and RTP Notícias. Those channels collectively achieved 5.4% share.

CNNPortugal and SIC Notícias each recorded 2.3% share. RTP Notícias posted 0.9%, marking a decline from the previous month.

The November victory extends CMTV’s lead to 44 consecutive months at the top of Portuguese cable television viewership. The channel also completed 890 consecutive days as the national segment leader.

CMTV is approaching a significant milestone of 1,000 uninterrupted days leading its competitors.

The channel is broadcast on channel 8 across all major cable platforms in Portugal. It is currently not available on the country’s Terrestrial Digital Television (DTT) network.
