Siddhant Chaturvedi is set to star in a new biopic about the legendary Indian filmmaker V. Shantaram. The film’s first official poster was unveiled today.
The poster reveals Chaturvedi’s look as Shantaram. He is depicted in a stylish ensemble of a dhoti, kurta, coat, and cap. An eagle and an open sky are visible in the background.
The producers shared the poster with the caption: “The rebel who reshaped Indian cinema is back on the big screen.” Fans have responded positively to Chaturvedi’s portrayal. The biopic will chronicle the extraordinary life and incredible work of V. Shantaram. Fans will soon be able to witness his journey on the big screen. Abhijit Shirish Deshpande wrote and directed the film.
Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale, and Sarita Ashwin Varde are producing the feature. Reports suggest that actors like Tamannaah Bhatia and Fardeen Khan might also appear in significant roles.
V. Shantaram, born Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre on November 18, 1901, was affectionately known as Shantaram Bapu. He was a prolific Indian filmmaker, film director, and actor. He directed his first film, ‘Netaji Palkar,’ in 1927. His notable works include ‘Amar Bhoopali,’ ‘Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje,’ ‘Do Aankhen Barah Haath,’ ‘Navrang,’ ‘Duniya Na Mane,’ and ‘Pinjra.’
