Akhtar recently portrayed Major Shaitan Singh Bhati in the film ‘120 Bahadur’. The movie is based on the historic Battle of Rezang La, a crucial engagement during the 1962 India-China War. In this battle, a contingent of 120 Indian soldiers valiantly faced over 3,000 Chinese troops.

Only six Indian soldiers from the original 120 survived the intense conflict. The film ‘120 Bahadur’ brings this harrowing and heroic story to the screen.

Major Shaitan Singh Bhati was born on December 1, 1924, and died on November 18, 1962, during the India-China War. An officer in the Indian Army, he also participated in the Naga Hills Operation. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration, in 1963 for his exceptional bravery and patriotism.
