Ranveer Singh’s highly anticipated film, ‘Dhurandhar,’ faces new legal challenges ahead of its December 5 release. The controversy stems from the film’s portrayal of late Pakistani police officer Chaudhry Aslam.
Noreen Aslam, Chaudhry Aslam’s widow, has issued a warning of legal action against the filmmakers. She expressed strong objections to her husband’s depiction in the movie.
Her primary concern is a dialogue in the film’s trailer that reportedly refers to Chaudhry Aslam as “devil” and “offspring of a jinn.” Noreen Aslam described these terms as deeply insulting.
She specifically noted that the language is offensive not only to her late husband but also to his mother, whom she described as a “simple, honest woman.” She stated she would take “all types of legal steps” if the film misrepresents or defames her husband.
Sanjay Dutt portrays the character of Chaudhry Aslam in the film. The late officer was known for his firm actions against crime in Karachi.
‘Dhurandhar’ is written and directed by Aditya Dhar. The film boasts a significant cast.
Alongside Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun are also featured in prominent roles. The movie is expected to be a spy-thriller action film.
