A Counter-Strike tournament concluded its final season Sunday after its organizer canceled the global esports league due to financial reasons.
Europe’s BIG EQUIPA secured the ESL Impact League Season 8 Finals title, defeating Brazil’s MIBR fe in an intense best-of-three series.
The tournament organizer, ESL, announced in October 2025 that the league would cease operations after this final event, citing financial challenges as the primary reason.
MIBR fe, the Brazilian squad, finished as the world’s second-best team, expressing pride despite their narrow loss.
“We fought hard, but let victory slip away on this last map,” MIBR fe posted on X, formerly Twitter. “Very proud of the entire journey and evolution of this team throughout the year. Thanks for the support. We are TOP 2 in the world.”
