Prince William Makes Discreet Visit to Young Gaza Patients in UK

Prince William recently made a private visit to young refugees from Gaza who are receiving medical attention in England.

A spokesperson for the Prince of Wales, 43, confirmed the meeting. "His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales recently met a small group of children from Gaza currently receiving specialist medical care in the United Kingdom," the spokesperson told Hello! in a statement issued Saturday, November 29.

The Prince’s intention was to offer comfort to these young individuals. "The Prince wanted to offer a moment of comfort to these young people who have endured experiences no child should ever have to face," the statement continued.

William also conveyed his appreciation for the country’s healthcare system. "The Prince also expressed his sincere thanks to NHS teams for providing exceptional care at such a difficult time," the spokesperson added.

His Royal Highness was deeply affected by the courage of the children and their families. He also recognized the dedication of the healthcare team.

The National Health Service (NHS) began providing medical care to children impacted by the ongoing conflict in Gaza in September. This initiative is part of the UK government’s humanitarian mission, according to a BBC report.

Amid the current ceasefire, an estimated 4,000 children in Gaza require immediate medical attention, UNICEF reports.

William has consistently shown interest in humanitarian causes and volunteer work. These are missions he shared with his late mother, Princess Diana.

"I’ve taken inspiration and guidance from what my mother did, especially with homelessness," William stated in his 2024 ITV documentary. He was referring to a recent campaign to eradicate homelessness.

He also reflected on his current contributions. "I’ve been slowly chipping away at, ‘What can I bring to the role and to the platform I have?’" William said.

In 2023, the Prince launched Homewards to help fund, construct, and support people in need of housing. Diana, who passed away in a 1997 car accident, also patronized several charities dedicated to homeless youth.

William is additionally a passionate advocate for environmental causes. He oversees the Earthshot Prize, which raises awareness for this issue.

Robert Irwin praised William’s collaborative spirit regarding the Earthshot Prize. "I think Prince William has been an incredible person to work with, and there is an incredible synergy between what he does, who he is, and who we are," Irwin told Us Weekly in June.

Irwin continued, "It’s all about conservation. I think it’s wonderful that someone so influential — who has such a fantastic platform — uses it to really better our environment. He’s a true environmental hero, and working with him has been such a massive privilege."

Irwin, 21, was unable to travel to Brazil for the 2025 awards ceremony earlier this month. The gala coincided with his commitments to Dancing With the Stars. William sent a video message instead.

"We miss you, Robert," William said in the prerecorded message. "While your dancing feet are shining elsewhere, I need you down here."

William then lightheartedly advised Irwin’s DWTS partner, Witney Carson, to encourage him to engage in "as much theater" as possible.

"You have an awful lot of chances of winning," the royal member added. "I wish you the very best of luck on the show."

Steve Irwin’s son later revealed that William’s support on the dance floor "meant the whole world" to him. Irwin and Carson, 32, ultimately won the competition.
