Veteran actor Anupam Kher has expressed strong displeasure over not being invited to industry roundtable interviews. Kher, who boasts a career spanning over four decades, revealed he has never received an invitation for these year-end discussions.
The actor stated that a segment of the industry does not consider him worthy of an invitation. He emphasized his stature, saying, “When it comes to acting, I am their father.” Kher also highlighted his role in running an acting school.
He recounted a conversation with a senior editor, asking why they were happy interviewing “mediocre actors” but never invited him. Kher’s comments came during a discussion on the YouTube channel Unfiltered with Samdish.
Despite these exclusions, Kher has maintained a busy schedule. This year, he has appeared in several films. These include ‘Emergency’ with Kangana Ranaut, ‘Tumko Meri Kasam’, ‘Metro In Dino’, and ‘Tanvi The Great’.
Kher also took on the roles of director and producer for ‘Tanvi The Great’. The film was recently screened at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
‘Tanvi The Great’ tells the story of Tanvi, a young girl with autism, who is determined to join the Indian armed forces. She lives with her mother and grandfather, portrayed by Kher, and draws inspiration from her late father.
The film features a notable cast. Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Karan Tacker, Arvind Swami, Naseer, and British actor Ian Glen all play significant roles. Kher also has several other films in the pipeline for future release.
