Sporting Reclaims Home Futsal Control, Beats Porto Salvo 6-3

Sporting secured its second-place standing in Portugal’s top futsal league with a commanding 6-3 home win against Leões Porto Salvo, now shifting focus to a Champions League fixture where they hold an 11-0 aggregate lead.

The victory at Pavilhão João Rocha widened Sporting’s lead over Leões Porto Salvo and followed an unexpected home defeat in their previous match.

The team, coached by Nuno Dias, now sits six points behind league leader Benfica.

Sporting established an early lead against Leões Porto Salvo. Diogo Santos scored twice within the first three minutes.

They held a comfortable 4-1 advantage nearing halftime.

Leões Porto Salvo narrowed the deficit just before the break with a 10-meter free-kick from Isaías Furtado.

Rúben Carrilho scored in the 24th minute, further reducing Sporting’s lead to 4-3 and creating a moment of tension.

However, Sporting regained control and solidified their performance to secure the three points.

The team will next play AEK in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. The match is largely seen as a formality due to Sporting’s overwhelming advantage from the first leg in Greece.
