Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has publicly cast doubt on his long-term future with the English Premier League champions, hinting at a potential departure.
Speaking in a DAZN interview, the Portuguese international stated that “it remains to be seen what will happen” concerning his next career move.
City manager Pep Guardiola had previously addressed the uncertainty surrounding one of his key players.
Guardiola emphasized his support, saying, “I want the best for him and, if he stays, I’ll be more than happy.”
The coach added that he does not discuss the matter directly with Silva. He underscored Silva’s lengthy commitment to the club, noting, “He’s been here for nine years and will decide what’s best.”
Silva also reflected on his role at Manchester City, describing it as “always an honor.” He added that as one of the team’s more experienced players, it is his responsibility “to pass on all that experience and information to help the younger guys.”
He concluded that quickly preparing new talent to “fight for important things” is what “is demanded at this club.”
