Desportivo da Huila secured a 2-0 victory over Kabuscorp do Palanca on Friday, provisionally propelling the team to seventh place in Angola’s top-tier Girabola football league.
The win, achieved during the ninth round of the championship, marked the club’s third league victory.
Forward Mendes scored both goals for Desportivo da Huila, finding the net in the 25th and 70th minutes of the match.
The squad, coached by Portugal’s Paulo Torres, now accumulates 13 points in the league standings.

League leaders 1.º de Agosto are set to play Académica do Lobito on Sunday.
Second-placed Recreativo do Libolo, currently tied on points with 1.º de Agosto, will host fifth-placed Bravos do Maquis.
