Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Film, Docuseries Debut December 12 on Disney+

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour may have concluded, but an updated concert documentary, “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour: The Final Show,” is set for release. This expanded film promises to offer fans every new song and moment from the monumental tour’s final stages. It will debut on Disney+ on Friday, December 12.

The new documentary will include “The Tortured Poets Department” (TTPD) set, which was added to the tour’s repertoire in May 2024. Viewers can also expect to see a new acoustic set and the surprise song medley from the last night of the tour. This medley featured “Long Live,” “New Year’s Day,” and “The Manuscript.”

A recent trailer for “The Eras Tour | The Final Show” announced expanded content. It promised “every new song, every new moment [and] everything you’ve waited for,” including a new acoustic set. The footage captures Swift performing TTPD tracks during her tour.

Swift filmed the documentary in Vancouver, Canada, where the shows concluded in December 2024, after touring countries and continents since March 2023. She addressed fans in the trailer, reflecting on the end of the era. Swift stated, “We’ve had a lot of time to prepare for the end of this tour, and tonight we’re going to give you one last show here.” She added, “I want to thank each of you for being part of the most exciting chapter of my entire life so far.”

She also shared her sentiments on Instagram, explaining the decision to film the tour. Swift wrote, “It was the end of an era and we knew it.” She emphasized wanting to remember every moment and “to film the final show in its entirety.”

In addition to the concert film, Disney+ will launch a six-episode docuseries titled “The End of an Era.” This series will explore behind the scenes, offering narratives from Swift’s extensive touring experience. Swift promoted the docuseries on Instagram, mentioning that it would go “behind the scenes” and be available from December 12.

Swift previously discussed the tour’s demanding nature on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights.” In an August episode, she described the experience as “perfect for what it was.” She noted the constant physical discomfort and extensive physical therapy required.

She also highlighted the dedication to fan experience, stating, “Making that show three and a half hours from the start, you can’t get sick one day and decide it will only be two and a half hours that night.” She called it the “most formative time” of her life.

The Eras Tour also played a role in Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce. Kelce, 36, invited her out after her July 2023 Kansas City concert. He later made a stage appearance during a London show in June 2024.

Swift’s experiences during the Eras Tour and her romance with Kelce inspired her latest studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” This album was released in October.
