Messaging giant WhatsApp is introducing clear, proactive warnings to educate users on platform rules, aiming to reduce account bans by preventing repeat infractions.
The messaging service plans to roll out personalized tips to users who receive a warning or a temporary block on their accounts. This new feature is designed to help individuals understand which rules they violated and how to avoid similar issues in the future.
This functionality was discovered in version 2.25.35.7 of the WhatsApp Beta for Android by tracking site WABetaInfo. The alerts are expected to appear during the account review process.
WhatsApp previously established a system allowing suspended users to appeal directly through the app. A dedicated team reviews each case, reactivating accounts if the block was found to be an error.
However, the company now seeks to inform users about prohibited practices before repeat offenses occur. Many account suspensions stem from users being unaware of specific platform policies regarding spam, automation, or unsolicited messages.
The upcoming warnings are not generic; they are tailored to explain the exact rules that were breached. This approach is intended to prevent users from making the same mistakes, particularly in cases of misunderstanding common habits that violate terms of service.
By increasing user awareness, WhatsApp aims to minimize the risk of unnecessary account losses. The feature is still under development and will be released in a future update, reflecting a strategy to educate users rather than simply punishing them.
