Kapil Sharma: Canada Cafe Attacks Led to ‘Big Openings’

Kapil Sharma disclosed that firing incidents at his Canada-based cafe unexpectedly boosted its business. He made these remarks during the trailer launch event for his upcoming film, ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’, in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Sharma’s Caps Cafe Canada, which opened in July, experienced three separate firing incidents. These occurred on July 10, August 7, and October 16. Fortunately, no one was injured in any of the attacks.

The comedian expressed concerns about local law enforcement’s capabilities. He stated that the incidents eventually led to discussions within the Canadian Parliament.

“I think the rules there and the police probably don’t have the power to control such incidents,” Sharma said. “But after that, when our case happened, the matter went to the Federal Government. It was discussed in the Canadian Parliament.”

He noted the unusual impact on his venture. “After every firing incident, we got a big opening at the cafe,” he revealed. Many people contacted him following the attacks.

Sharma reflected on perceptions of safety. He shared that he has always felt secure in Mumbai and India. “I have never felt unsafe in Mumbai or our country,” he affirmed.

The comedian believes these incidents prompted action. He added that steps are now being taken to improve law and order in the Canadian region.

Sharma’s new film, ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’, sees him in a challenging role. His character navigates the complexities of being married to four women. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on December 12, 2025.
