Cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s KBC Absence: Pre-Planned, Not Postponed Wedding Fallout

Speculation has emerged that cricketer Smriti Mandhana will not participate in an upcoming special episode of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC). Reports linked her absence to the recent postponement of her wedding to director and musician Palash Muchhal.

However, sources close to the KBC production team clarify that Mandhana’s non-participation is unrelated to her wedding delay. She was never slated to appear on the episode due to a prior scheduling conflict. Her initial wedding dates clashed with the show’s shooting schedule.

The KBC makers issued a press release confirming the lineup for the special episode, which celebrates the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. Smriti Mandhana’s name was notably absent from this list.

The episode, set to be filmed on Wednesday, November 26, will feature several prominent cricketers. These include Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Kaur Deol, Richa Ghosh, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, and Sneh Rana. India Women’s team Head Coach Amol Mazumdar will also join them.

Mandhana’s wedding with Palash Muchhal was originally scheduled for November 23. It was postponed due to her father’s ill health.

Her father has since been discharged from the hospital. Separately, Palash Muchhal was reportedly hospitalized due to a viral infection. His sister, singer Palak Muchhal, was observed outside the hospital.

Amid these developments, an alleged chat involving Palash flirting with a choreographer named Mary DeCosta went viral. Palash and his family have not issued any statement regarding the authenticity or content of these chats.

Despite the lack of official comment, social media discussions suggest this viral chat could be the real reason for the wedding postponement.
