Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande voiced confidence in his team’s ability to secure a Champions League victory against Club Brugge, despite acknowledging the Belgian side’s individual and collective strength.
Diomande stated Sporting is “confident” playing “at home” but recognized the match would be “difficult.” He noted Club Brugge’s strong individual and collective play, particularly their dangerous transitions.
“It will be difficult but we are prepared for this team,” Diomande told Sport TV.
The central defender also singled out Club Brugge captain Vanaken as a key player. He described Vanaken as “important” and a creator of “many opportunities.”
“We know his quality and will be attentive,” Diomande added.
