Robert Irwin is embarking on a demanding schedule immediately following his win on Dancing With the Stars. The 21-year-old won the recent finale of the popular ABC ballroom dance competition.
Irwin will have little downtime before his next major commitment. He is set to travel to South Africa to film another television program.
He shared his immediate itinerary, stating he will go to New York, then directly to South Africa for filming, before returning home to Australia.
Irwin already hosts the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! alongside Julia Morris. Its new season is scheduled to premiere in January 2026.
Beyond his television commitments, Irwin also confirmed future plans with his professional dance partner, Witney Carson.
Carson, 32, will be visiting Australia in the coming spring. She quipped that Irwin would not be getting rid of her so easily.
Irwin’s intense post-win schedule comes after eleven grueling weeks of competition. He endured several physical challenges throughout the season.
Notably, Irwin sustained an injury during final rehearsals for the Dancing With the Stars finale. He revealed this in a video aired on the show’s final night.
He explained that he had been battling rib pain due to significant strain on his intercostal muscles, which had worsened over time.
Carson expressed deep concern for Irwin’s well-being leading up to the finale. She emphasized that his health remained her top priority.
Earlier on the day of the finale, Carson posted a video on TikTok. In it, she detailed Irwin’s rib injury just before the live broadcast.
She noted the camera blocking was stressful and that Robert’s ribs were severely bothering him. This provided insight into their challenges that week.
Carson and Irwin were forced to alter parts of their freestyle routine due to his injury.
She described the process of quickly adjusting their routine as the most stressful part. It required extensive practice to ensure everything was ready for the finale.
Carson admitted to feeling emotionally and physically exhausted by the end of the competition. She noted both her and Irwin’s bodies were feeling the strain.
Despite the fatigue and injury, Irwin and Carson delivered impressive performances. They earned perfect scores of 30 for both their freestyle and cha-cha-chá routines.
The couple danced to victory, also achieving 29 points for their quickstep.
Irwin’s triumph comes ten years after his elder sister, Bindi, now 27, secured her own Dancing With the Stars win with current judge Derek Hough.
The recent finale saw several other strong contenders. Influencer Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy finished in second place.
Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa earned third place.
Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach secured fourth place.
Actress Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten rounded out the top five.
