Macy’s 99th Thanksgiving Parade to Feature Stranger Things, Mario, Buzz Lightyear

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade first began in 1924. It has grown into a significant event over the past 101 years, kicking off the holiday season in New York City.

This year marks the 99th annual parade. It remains a beloved tradition and a major draw for audiences nationwide.

Viewers can tune in from home to follow all the festivities. Here’s a guide on how to watch the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

NBC will broadcast the parade, continuing a tradition since 1953. Live coverage will also be available on Peacock, Fubo, and the Spanish-language network Telemundo.

Peacock viewers can choose from multiple viewing options. These include the traditional parade broadcast, a Float View from Tom the Turkey’s float, and an aerial "bird’s-eye" perspective.

Parade coverage begins at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones. The event is scheduled to run for three and a half hours.

"Today" personalities Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, and Savannah Guthrie will host the English broadcast. Andrea Meza, Aleyda Ortiz, and Clovis Nienow will host the Spanish-language coverage.

This year’s parade features a diverse lineup of musical guests and performers, including modern stars and classic acts. The full list includes Drew Baldridge, Matteo Bocelli, Colbie Caillat, Cynthia Erivo, Ciara, Gavin DeGraw, Meg Donnelly, Mr. Fantasy, Foreigner, Debbie Gibson, Mickey Guyton, Christopher Jackson, Jewel, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Darlene Love, Roman Mejia, Taylor Momsen, Tiler Peck, Busta Rhymes, Calum Scott, Shaggy, Lauren Spencer Smith, Luísa Sonza, and Teyana Taylor.

Six new floats, all supported by major corporate sponsors, will join the parade. One highlight is the "Upside Down Invasion: Stranger Things" float, presented by Netflix to promote the show’s latest season.

Other new additions include The Land of Glaciers, Wildlife & Wonder by Holland America Line, Brick-tastic Winter Mountain by The LEGO Group, Master Chocolatier Ballroom by Lindt, Friends-giving in POPCITY by Pop Mart, and The Counting Sheep’s Dream Generator by Serta.

Four new balloons will also debut this year. Video game icon Pac-Man will float above the streets, and Nintendo will introduce a new Mario balloon.

Disney’s Pixar Animation Studios will send its Buzz Lightyear balloon "to infinity, and beyond!" Universal Pictures’ DreamWorks Animation will feature Shrek’s Onion Float.
