A highly anticipated all-Brazilian showdown at the StarLadder Budapest Counter-Strike 2 Major 2025 pushed one team closer to the next stage while leaving the other teetering on the brink of elimination. Legacy defeated fellow Brazilian squad RED Canids 13-6 on the Nuke map in their crucial third-round match.
The victory advances Legacy’s record to 2-1 in the Stage 1 playoffs. This places them one step closer to securing qualification for the next phase of the tournament.
Conversely, RED Canids dropped to a 1-2 record. This means they are now just one loss away from being eliminated from the second Counter-Strike 2 world championship of the year.
Both teams entered the decisive match with identical 1-1 records. Legacy had previously suffered a 13-0 loss to FlyQuest before securing a 13-6 win against Rare Atom.
RED Canids’ initial Major match resulted in a 16-14 loss to fnatic. They then bounced back with a 13-6 victory over GamerLegion.
All remaining matches in the tournament will be best-of-three series. These include upcoming games scheduled for Wednesday, November 26, which will be either elimination or classification matches. StarLadder is the organizer of the global event.
