FC Arouca’s leadership has affirmed its complete confidence in coach Vasco Seabra, despite the Portuguese top-flight club enduring four consecutive defeats and an early exit from the domestic cup.
President Carlos Pinho publicly reinforced his “total confidence” in Seabra, making the statement during a General Assembly on Friday. This declaration came even before the team’s elimination from the Taça de Portugal by third-tier side Fafe.
Pinho acknowledged that the team is not currently in its desired position. However, he stressed Seabra’s importance in guiding the club toward its season objectives.
This show of support follows the presentation of a robust financial report at the same assembly. The club announced a positive result of USD 6.4 million.
Seabra is reportedly being given “room to maneuver” to turn around the team’s recent poor performance. This flexibility is largely attributed to his successful tenure last season.
During the previous season, Seabra took charge of Arouca when they were in last place. He then guided them to a secure position in the league, avoiding relegation challenges.
His turnaround efforts last season were particularly notable given a challenging start. Arouca secured only one point in Seabra’s initial five games at the helm.
