William Levy and Fabiola Guajardo star in “Under a Volcano,” a new film blending romance, action, and adventure. The movie was shot in the dramatic landscapes of Tenerife, Spain. It explores love and bravery as characters face an active volcanic threat.
The production brought the actors directly into a potentially dangerous environment. This immersive experience highlighted the unpredictable power of nature.
William Levy shared his experience filming so close to the volcano. He stated it made him realize how fragile humans are. He also noted the stunning locations greatly benefited the cast and crew.
Fabiola Guajardo echoed Levy’s sentiments. She described Tenerife as a “magical place” with “impressive, majestic” scenery. Guajardo found the location aligned perfectly with her passion for travel and acting.

Guajardo vividly recalled a scene near a lava flow. She wondered aloud where the cast would run if the volcano erupted during that moment.

Maggie Civantos plays volcanologist Dani, who warns of the volcano’s deceptive calm. Other cast members include Adriana Torrebejano, Elia Galera, AntĂłn Lofer, and Pino Montesdeoca.
Levy acknowledged the significant responsibility of portraying a member of Spain’s Military Emergency Unit (UME). He stressed the importance of representing them accurately.
Both actors praised Spain as an inspiring filming destination. Guajardo found “pure happiness” in working in a country she loves. Levy celebrated the film’s successful blend of Latin American and European talent.
