German referee Tobias Stieler has been appointed to officiate the upcoming UEFA Champions League match between Sporting CP and Club Brugge.
The 44-year-old official received his FIFA badge in 2014. He will lead an international team for the 5th-round fixture.
Stieler’s compatriots, Lasse Koslowski and Mark Borsch, will serve as assistant referees. Martin Petersen, also German, has been named the fourth official.
The video assistant referee (VAR) will be Benjamin Brand, another German. He will receive support from Italian official Daniele Chiffi.
This season, Stieler previously officiated a UEFA Europa League match. In that fixture, Portugal’s Braga defeated Celtic 2-0.
